Winky D wins best African Entertainer Award at the 40th International Reggae and World Music Awards(IRAWMA)

Celebrated Zimdancehall chanter Wallace “Winky D” Chirumiko was on Sunday announced as the Best African Entertainer during the 40th International Reggae and World Music Awards ceremony held in Kingston, Jamaica.

His latest project, Eureka Eureka clinched a Jamaican International Reggae and World Music Award for Best African Entertainer, shrugging off competition from Stonebwoy (Ghana), Patoranking (Nigeria), Shata Wale (Ghana) and Star Zee (Sierra Leone).

Previously, Winky D was awarded the Best African Dancehall/Entertainer at the virtually held 39th International Reggae and World Music Awards, on May 16, 2021.

The International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA ceremony was established in 1982 to acknowledge and honor the accomplishments and contributions of reggae and world music artists, including songwriters, performers, promoters, and musicians.
