For the first time, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has launched approximately ten types of entrance visas for travelers to the UAE for various visit purposes that do not require a host or sponsor.

Authorities announced new types of entry visas and residence permits, and have expanded the Golden Visa categories.

The UAE has modernized its immigration and residency rules as it works to establish itself as the perfect location for employment, investment, entrepreneurship, education, and living.

The new entry and residency system has been implemented to draw in and attract top talent and skilled workers from around the globe, to increase the flexibility and competitiveness of the employment market, and to promote a strong sense of stability among UAE citizens and their families.

Some major improvements for the entry visas include facilitating the entry requirements for all visa types and offering flexible visa durations that not only meet the needs of the visitors but also their purpose of the visit.

Additionally, all entry visas will now be available for single or multiple entries and will be valid for 60 days from their date of issuance and can also be renewed for similar periods.

The new visas are the Golden visa for scientists, Golden visa for skilled workers, Golden visa for exceptional talents, Golden visa for real estate investors, Golden visa for entrepreneurs, Golden visa for students, Golden visa UAE for humanitarian pioneers, Golden visa UAE for doctors and nurses, Green residence for skilled employees, Green residence for freelancing and self-employment, Green residence for investor or partner, Job exploration entry visa, Multi-entry tourist visa and the Business entry visa.

According to the UAE officials, most people who come in search of jobs in the country lack thorough research in terms of job market, and basic information about the country.

“When migrating to the UAE, expats should be aware that there are seven distinct emirate states that make up the nation: Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah, and Umm Al Quwain.

These states each have their own local government in addition to being administered by a single federalentity,”

The fact that UAE employers will not only sponsor an employee's residence visa but also handle all of the paperwork is one of the best reasons to relocate there, despite the fact that there are many other advantages.

Employers are also obligated by law in some emirate states to provide healthcare for foreign workers 1and their dependents. The UAE's laws prohibit recruiters from charging job searchers any payment at all.

The officials also explained about the entry visas which the majority of the people frequently asked about.

“The Job Exploration Visa has been introduced as a means to attract young talents and skilled professionals to explore job opportunities available in the country. The visa does not require a sponsor or a host and will be granted if the applicant meets the following requirements: is classified in the first

or second or third skill level as per the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization; is a fresh graduate of the best 500 universities in the world; has a minimum educational level of a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent,”

They also explained about the Multi-entry tourist visa.

“Besides a regular Tourist Visa, sponsored by the tourism establishment in the UAE, a five-year multi-entry tourist visa was introduced. This type of Tourist Visa allows a person to stay in the UAE for up to90 days and can be extended for a similar period, provided the entire period of stay does not exceed 180 days in one year. The five-year multi-entry tourist visa does not require a sponsor.

“Visitors of any nationality can avail of the five-year, multiple-entry tourist visa to the UAE. This visa allows tourists to enter the UAE multiple times on self-sponsorship and stay for 90 days during each

visit. Holders may also extend the visas for additional 90 days without leaving the country. The only requirement to be eligible for this visa is submitting proof of having a bank balance of $4,000 (AED14,700) or its equivalent in foreign currencies during the last six (6) months prior to submitting theapplication.”

Visitors can also apply for the Entry Permit to Visit Friends and Relatives if they are a relative or a friend of a UAE citizen or resident without necessarily having a sponsor or a host.

Those with a temporary work assignment like probation testing or project-based mission, and are sponsored by the employer can apply for the entry permit for a temporary work mission.

“A visitor can apply for this entry permit if he/she is a relative or friend of a UAE citizen or resident. Some of the requirements include: a temporary work contract, or a letter from the employer clarifying the visit purpose and proof of health and fitness to work.

The entry permit for study and training is primarily intended for those attending training and study courses or participating in internship programs. The sponsor for this type of permit can be universities or educational or research institutions licensed in the country or government or private entities.

The requirements include a letter from the entity, clarifying the details of the study or training or internship program and its duration.

“After all of the aforementioned has been said, it is crucial to advise those who desire to migrate to the UAE that they must have adequate funds saved before setting off on their journey. The cost of living in the UAE is fairly high. Do a great deal of research before moving forward,” warned the authorities

Professionals already working in Dubai commended the UAE government following the recent visa changes.

An engineer based in Dubai, Atif Rehman said, “With the new visas, notably the job exploration visa, the government has done a fantastic job. It makes it simple for our colleagues’ world-over to apply for the visa without a sponsor. Since the job exploration visa is only available to individuals who have earned a degree, hopefully they will take those without degrees into consideration.”

Zivanai Chirambamhanda, a Zimbabwean based in UAE commented on the same issue saying, “This is an opportunity for my fellow Zimbabweans who just completed their tertiary studies to apply for the job exploration visa without needing a sponsor. Job seekers have been defrauded by agencies, who charge

them exorbitant prices for visa services. Consequently, the recently announced visa is a positive development.”

Job seekers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are optimistic that the recent visa changes by the government will ease the job market and create more opportunities for them.

“Expats who are interested in moving to the UAE will be happy to know that it is now relatively simple. The UAE makes it simple and easy to move to their country because the expat population there is nearly six times higher than the population of Emirati citizens,”
