Two Zimbabweans in MasterChef Australia 2023 eye top prize

By Entertainment Reporter
There is more than just some Zimbabwean flavour in the Aussie reality television series, MasterChef Australia.
The show is back for another season since May 1, and two people with Zimbabwean roots, Ralph Kahango and Rue Mupedzi, are competing for the $250 000 in prize money.
Kahango grew up in Zimbabwe and South Africa before moving to Australia when he was 17.
He was taught his skills in the kitchen by his mum, but his knowledge on flavour is credited to his older brother and sister, according to bio on nowtolove .
He is tipped to share traditional cuisine, culture and traditions with the MasterChef Australia judges.
Mupedzi is said to have met her first inspiration when she experienced her first fine-dining in Sydney in 2014. She loves eat at restaurants just to return home and attempt to recreate the dish.
In 2021, she launched her own macaronni business. Clearly a skilled dessert chef, however Rue is comfortable cooking savoury.
