Sweswe attributes teams recent success to hard work and tenacity

Bulawayo Chiefs coach Lizwe Sweswe has attributed his charges recent form to hard work and determination.

On Saturday Chiefs recorded their fourth win in a row after beating debutants Sheasham 2-0 at Luveve Stadium in Bulawayo.

Despite starting on a slow start, the Bulawayo-based side are slowly making progress.

Chiefs who are now fifth in the current log standings with 15 points from nine games played with four wins and three draws.

 “I think for now the boys are playing so well. They have gelled a bit in terms of teamwork.

“Teamwork is what is important, as is hard work and the zeal to achieve more.

“I have given them the responsibility to do what they can do best, and that has given them so much confidence.” I told them that they are the players; they are the ones in that field of play, and they should take the opportunity to shine, and it is working.

“A culture of success is built by celebrating wins to keep motivation and commitment levels high. The ultimate strategy, though, is always on the end game.”

They are set to face Simba Bhora on Monday at Baobab Stadium, Mhondoro Ngezi.

Sweswe said he is happy that his players are now understanding his philosophy.

“It’s about the philosophy; I have imparted my philosophy, and by now they understand how I want them to operate and how I want them to play, and this is being complemented by a number of good players on the team.

“Most of the time, if you have good players, it makes you a good coach.
