ZANU PF Member of Parliament candidate for Mabvuku Constituency Pedzisai Scott Sakupwanya, has conceded defeat to the main opposition party candidate Munyaradzi Kupahakutizwe, who emerged victorious in the race for the National Assembly seat.

This development follows a fiercely contested election in the Mabvuku Constituency, where the electorate made their voices heard through the ballot, selecting their preferred leader.

The news of Sakupwanya’s defeat spread across social media, generating discussions and debates. Many Zimbabweans noted that despite the candidate’s efforts for the constituency, the voters had made their own choice.

During his campaign for the MP seat, Sakupwanya gained significant attention in Harare and beyond by generously spending millions of dollars to bring the world-famous boxer Mayweather all the way from the United States of America.

He also provided free health services to residents of Mabvuku Tafara, along with free ambulances and buses to transport people to and from town, as part of his bid for the MP seat.

In an official statement from the ZANU PF Mabvuku Tafara Constituency, Pedzisai Scott Sakupwanya conceded defeat and extended congratulations to the incoming Mabvuku Tafara Member of Parliament.

“I take this opportunity to congratulate the people of Mabvuku Tafara for their peaceful voting and for upholding the values of peace and love. I also congratulate the newly elected MP, Mr. Munyaradzi Kupahakutizwe, as he takes on the responsibility of representing Mabvuku Tafara Constituency, our home,” he said.

Sakupwanya proceeded to express his well wishes for the MP-elect’s efforts in serving the constituency and enhancing the quality of life for its residents.

“I trust that the elected Member of Parliament will tirelessly address the concerns of the people in this constituency, particularly focusing on empowering residents, improving service delivery, addressing issues affecting the vulnerable, and considering the demographic composition of our constituency,” Sakupwanya said.
