The popular duo of former Power FM Champions League Breakfast Show hosts Tinashe Chikuse and Phathisani Sibanda are set to join Zimpapers owned commercial talk radio station Capitalk 100.4 FM on May 1.
Star FM earlier on shared a picture of Tinashe Chikuse and Phathisani Sibanda today holding a speaker on their official Facebook page, hinting at the return of the Champions League Breakfast Show on their platform.
Capitalk went on to confirm the development.
The caption read:
“The Champions League is back? Where to? Phathisani ‘mashuga’ Sibanda and Tinashe Chikuse,”
News that Chikuse and Sibanda are joining Power FM’s rival Star FM comes barely after the former penned an emotional letter on his Facebook page announcing his resignation from ZBC after two decades.
Chikuse has been under a cloud ever since the cancellation of the Champions League breakfast show and his alleged suspension with co-host Pathisani Sibanda last year.
In their place, the management introduced new hosts for The Morning Drive show which includes comedian, Nijo, a debutant on radio alongside Rachel and Rugare which resulted in the alleged boycott of the radio station by their legion of followers.
