Parliament petitioned over ‘Right to Shelter Act

A local non-governmental organisation, Coalition for Market and Liberal Solutions, has petitioned parliament to craft a ‘Right to Shelter Act that will harmonise all laws with anything to do with property rights and title deeds.

The organisation’s Executive Director Rejoice Ngwenya said the proposed Act would make it easier for citizens to acquire title and will afford millions of Zimbabweans an opportunity to legitimately own homes and enhance their wealth status.

“We have therefore petitioned Parliament for Zimbabwe to have a new ‘Right to Shelter Act’ that harmonises all laws with anything to do with property rights and title deeds. Our desire to present our case to the Parliamentary Portfolio on Local Government is that Parliamentarians spend more time informing their constituents on property rights,” he said.
