Zim Ninja Academy Chief Instructor, Organises Zim Bujinkan Ninjutsu Martial Arts Grading

Zim Ninja Academy Chief Instructor and newly appointed Zimbabwe Karate Union (ZKU) Vice President Shidoshi-ho Wilfred Mashaya held a Zimbabwe Bujinkan Ninjutsu Martial Arts grading over the weekend.

The grading session comes as a positive step towards the development of Martial Arts in the country.

Zim Ninja Academy is an affiliate of ZKU.

Mashaya holds a black belt in the discipline, making him Zimbabwe’s first certified ninja and the first authorised to hold such grading.

The Bujinkan Ninjitsu martial arts discipline originates in Japan under its founder Soke Masaaki Hatsumi of Japan.

“More than 60 participants including men, women and children took part in the event as they believe in equal opportunities. The students were grading to Kyu belts which are coloured belts below Black Belt.”

Martial Arts Grading is a technical examination where students are tested on what they have learnt through training in that respective Martial Arts style syllabus

The Zimbabwe Bujinkan Ninjutsu is under the Authority and guidance of the European grandmaster Dai Shihan Lazarevic Predrag. He is as well Mashaya’s mentor.

Mashaya, the 2018 Zimbabwe Sportsperson of the year and regional sportsman of the year, is a holder of four black belts from different martial arts disciplines. The Hall of Famer and multi award winning  martial artist Mashaya says he is on a mission to spread the goodness of martial arts in the country. He founded the academy, which practices five martial arts disciplines, namely Kyokushin Karate, Bujinkan Ninjutsu, Kobudo (martial arts weapons), Self Defence and Nunchaku-do

“Martial arts comes with many benefits; these include self-defence, survival skills, physical fitness, stress management, boosting confidence and esteem, brevity, flexibility, and discipline.”

Zimbabwe Karate Union is on a mission to spread Martial Arts in Zimbabwe by promoting it to kids, women, and men as they believe that the skills are a necessity in one’s life and should benefit everyone. Wilfred Mashaya a.k.a The Zim Ninja felt humbled to be elected as ZKU Vice president and looks forward to do his best for the good of ZKU and it’s members as he believes they is vast talent under ZKU which needs to be groomed, nurtured & supported so as to conquer the world. He believes in working together as ZKU with unity of purpose so as to yield fruitful results for the good of martial arts and sport. Also, to set a good example to the young generation.

On that same note, the newly appointed ZKU executive is made up of ZKU President Shihan Tawanda Mufundisi, ZKU Vice President Shidoshi-ho Wilfred Mashaya, ZKU Secretary General Sempai Precious Garikayi, ZKU Treasurer Sempai Tanaka Nyakuipa , ZKU Technical Director Shihan Sharleen Amoda and ZKU Board members. The New Executive Board promises to work tooth & nail for the development and success of all Martial arts disciplines being practiced by its affiliates with the bulk doing full contact Karate others Kobudo.

The newly appointed ZKU executive board is promising to make waves in the region and the world over if resources & sponsorship permits so as to continue raising the country’s flag high in the world of sports as demonstrated by their previous success records.
