NAMA return to Bulawayo after a decade

National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA) 22 edition will be held on the 24th of February 2024, and stakeholders should expect something they have never seen before, organisers say. 

NACZ Director Nicholas Moyo said NAMA 22 edition is now open for entries and considering the artworks created and exhibited from 1 December 2022 to 30 November 2023.

Nama will further announce rules, terms and conditions for awards. Moyo said over 100 entries applied before the call was announced.

NAMA Executive Producer Napoleon Nyanhi said this event will move to Bulawayo at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) Hall 3. NAMA was lastly held in Bulawayo for almost a decade now.

Nyanhi said NAMA Golf Day 4th Edition is on the 10th of November this year at Bulawayo Golf Club. He said the golf day event was important for artists because it is their opportunity to meet with businesspeople and sponsors in a relaxed space.

Nyanhi said people should expect something they have never seen before and expect the event to be the best in Southern Africa.

NAMA 22 Edition run by Jacaranda Culture and Media Corporation was funded by the Culture Fund in partnership with the European Union Delegation to Zimbabwe, Dariro Mode and many other sponsors
