Warriors midfielder Kudakwashe Mahachi has ended months of speculation over his future after he signed a one-year deal with Ghanaian champions Medeama SC.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United player had been linked with a return to his former Zimbabwean club
Chicken Inn before the close of the transfer window.

However, the Ghanaian club – who are in the process of bolstering their side ahead of the CAF Champions League – have signed the attacking mid-fielder after they were impressed by the value he could add to their ranks given his international experience.

Reports from Ghana indicated that the 29-year-old midfielder had already put pen to paper after being offered a contract by Madeama SC.

The development means Mahachi – whose contract was terminated by SuperSport United after allegations of child abuse and attempted murder were leveled against him – now has another chance to resuscitate his football career in a new environment.

His move to Ghana could also boost his chances of returning to the Warriors, who will be participating in the 2026 FIFA World Cup African Qualifiers from November this year.

Mahachi – who made his debut for the Warriors in 2023 – boasts 41 caps and has scored four goals for the national side.

His return to action may enhance his chances of being recalled when the Warriors begin preparing for the qualifiers.

Mahachi’s return to competitive football also brings an end to many months of stress and uncertainty in which he appeared before the courts
multiple times to answer to child abuse and attempted murder charges
