Takudzwa Hove, who is the reigning Mister Glamour Zimbabwe Runner-Up, has been crowned the Second Runner-Up at the just-ended Miss and Mister Model Mediterraneo Global pageant in Alicante, Spain.
The contest held at the famous Ibis Hotel arena is described by organizers as one of the world’s largest pageants which celebrate and promote young people in the modeling and fashion sector by giving them a platform to showcase their talents on an international scale.
Hove was also crowned Mr. Sympatia, a title voted for by other contestants for being the friendliest and most entertaining model at the global pageant.
In an interview with Review & Mail, Hove said the experience was so transforming and he was happy to raise the country’s flag high.
“The experience was so amazing. From the people I met to the places we went to the food we ate; everything was memorable and I can’t wait to do it again,” he said.
“I am thrilled to have made it so far in the competition. This truly is a dream come true, and I am so very grateful to have had this wonderful opportunity. I am deeply thankful for the opportunity and to everyone who has supported and uplifted me.”
He said he want to thank Parkstreet Entertainment – the organizers of Mister and Miss Glamour Zimbabwe – for their unwavering support and the love he received throughout the journey.
Hove said that he was extremely proud and is really thankful for the opportunities presented at the global pageant.
“Traveling by myself put me out of my comfort zone but in the best way possible because I was able to show others what being Zimbabwean is all about. I improved my Spanish drastically whilst I was there as most of the candidates were Hispanic. I also got to learn a lot about the history and food of the different candidates which for me being in the hospitality industry was something amazing. I will cherish it forever.”
Mister and Miss Glamour Zimbabwe President, Robert Chipazaure, said this is a moment that reaffirms that our dreams are valid, regardless of where we come from.
“As Parkstreet Entertainment we are very grateful for the love and support we have been getting from our audience throughout the whole competition. Thank you for supporting us and keep on doing so. We’re very happy for our Taku for being the first African to make it at the prestigious international pageant.”
