The Zimbabwe senior national netball team (Gems) coach Ropafadzo Mutsauki said he is impressed with the way his charges are responding to training in camp.

The Gems are in camp preparing for the upcoming 2023 Netball World Cup, set for July 28–August 6 in Cape Town, South Africa.

This will be the Gems second successive appearance at the global showcase, which will be held in Africa for the first time.

“We have been improving our fitness level, and I’m pleased to report that we have made great strides. At this point, we are focusing more on the match aspect.

“We need to keep working, but I can see that since we began focusing on the same combinations, things are going well.

“Our mid-court is causing us some problems, but we will figure it out. The fact that some players had to abandon camp due to injuries is the issue; however, there is still hope,” he said.
