Discipline is key-Manyuchi

Boxing champion Charles Manyuchi has listed discipline and focus as key to an athlete’s success.

Manyuchi, who is hanging his gloves from the boxing ring during a grand finale boxing tournament, told the media that boxers need to be disciplined if they are to realize their dream.

The former World Boxing Council silver welterweight champion will put an end to his remarkable career when he defends his World Boxing Federation middleweight championship against Sheriff.

He reflected on his career and noted how indiscipline almost ended it.

It had to take the intervention of the then Sports Minister, Makhosini Hlongwane, to see Manyuchi back in the ring.

“As a boxer, you need to be disciplined, you need to listen to what your managers’ say, because they are the ones that make a boxer,” Manyuchi said.
