Debutant Mudzinganyama wins TotalSports Two Oceans Marathon

Givemore Mudzinganyama was crowned champion at the 2023 edition of the TotalSports Two Oceans Marathon held this morning in Cape Town.

This is Mudzinganyama’s debut appearance at annual marathon dubbed “the world’s most beautiful marathon”

He crossed the line in 3:09:42 , almost 6 seconds slower than the record set by Thompson Magawana 35 years ago.

And for his exploits, Mudzinganyama walked home R260,000 richer.

After Honest Mutsakani, who won the prestigious competition in 2001, Marco Mambo, who won it twice in a row in 2004 and 2005, Moses Njodzi, who won it in 2006, Stephen Muzhingi, who won it in 2012, an Mike Fokoroni, who won it in 2016, Mudzinganyama becomes the sixth Zimbabwean to take home the prize

“I had a dream to run in the Olympics.Two Oceans has healed the wound.,” Mudzinganyama posted on Facebook.
